Skilled Nursing

Cumberland River Hospital’s Skilled Nursing Unit is designed to facilitate skilled rehabilitation care, which sometimes becomes necessary following an illness or injury. The program is designed for patients that are well enough to leave the acute care hospitalization but not well enough to return home. Therapies while in the Skilled Nursing Unit include: rehabilitation for patients who have had a stroke, surgery, hip or knee replacement; IV medication therapy; and strength training after a lingering illness or prolonged hospitalization. This program allows patients to be close to home, family, and friends during their rehabilitation.
